Showa Memorial Park is located in Tachikawa and is 30 minutes away from central Tokyo by train. This park covers over 160 hectares and has a variety of natural spaces, seasonal flowers, water features, museums, and sports facilities. The park was inaugurated in 1983 as a way to commemorate Emperor Showa's 50th anniversary.

Multiple wide lawns throughout the park allow visitors to picnic and relax due to its spaciousness and lushness. Woodlands, Japanese and Western style gardens, a large pond, and various flower beds spread out over fields and hills are also present.

The nearest station to Showa Memorial Park is Tachikawa Station. It is about an 18-minute walk from the station.

The Cherry blossoms, an array of other seasonal flowers, grow in the park, the most prominent of which is Nanohana (rapeseed), tulips and Tsutsuji (azalea). The picturesque Flower Hill in the northeast corner of the park is covered with poppies, which are abundant. The peak blooming of flowers occurs at different times, but the best time to view them is usually late spring to early summer.

A flower festival is usually held from late March to May. During the event, winter-blooming Nanohana will be the first to bloom, followed by Cherry blossoms, tulips, Nemophila, Shirley poppies, and more. Moreover, there will be flower-themed food and drink menus, and numerous events where you can learn more about the charms of flowers.

The event's slogans are "A season that brings us closer together" and "A flower-colored time woven together with you".

This is their first time blowing soap bubbles with the cherry blossoms in the background. Enjoy the fantastic scenery of soap bubbles dancing against the backdrop of flowering trees by coming. The 'Special Photo Time' allows you to take pictures of the Tulip Garden without anyone for a 30-minute period, starting from the opening time of 9:30 to 10:00. This is your opportunity to capture images of the untouched landscapes that everyone desires to photograph! Joining us is free of charge.

Inside the park, there is a bonsai museum and a large children's play area with slides and bouncing domes. Visitors can rent row or pedal boats by the hour at the boating lake, the barbecue and adjacent sports facility area, and the small folk village with a traditional farmhouse. Additional fees are required for certain attractions.

A few cafes and food stalls can also be found scattered around the park. The best way to get around the park is to rent a bicycle. Rental outlets can be found at various park entrances and cost 600 yen for three hours or 800 yen for the entire day. The extensive bike-only track network makes it easy for visitors to traverse the park using bicycles. A park train (on wheels) that costs 400 yen per ride is also an option.
