Banei Tokachi Obihiro Horse Race Track

The world's only Banei Horse Racing takes place at Obihiro Racecourse (Bone Tokachi). In Bone Horse Racing, horses that weigh around one ton are hauled by heavy iron sleds that weigh up to one ton to compete in a competition for power, speed, and endurance.

The power of the horses, which were used for farming in the pioneer days of Hokkaido, has been passed down to the present day and still impresses people as a part of Hokkaido's heritage. It's a sight to behold as the horses run along a 200-meter-long course, including two hills, pulling heavy sleds.

Tokachimura is located next to Obihiro Racecourse, offers a variety of "delicacies" of Tokachi. Tokuchi producers offer a wide variety of fresh vegetables and ingredients in the direct sales area. Desserts and pork bowls, as well as other local gourmet foods, are commonly known as 'treasure houses of food'.

This 'Land of Love' in Hokkaido is known for its catchphrase: 'From the land of love to fortune'. ” The area got its nickname from Kofuku Station (kofuku meaning “fortune”) and Aikoku Station (aikoku meaning “land of love”) on the former national Hiroo Line.

The pink station house of Kofuku Station became a popular photo location thanks to the abandonment of the route, and the walls were covered in business cards from visitors who hoped for good luck. The recently installed bell is now available for you to hold a mock 'Happy Ceremony Wedding' with your special someone here.

The station building at Aikoku Station has been transformed into a transportation museum for curious travelers to learn more about the history of train travel in this region.
