Sapporo Clock Tower
The Clock Tower is synonymous with Sapporo. In 1878, the Sapporo Agricultural College built the building as a drill hall during the early phase of Sapporo's development. A clock that was bought in Boston was installed in 1881.
After sunset, the building is illuminated, bringing a hint of white to the gray business district.

Hokkaido Prefectural Office
For approximately 80 years, the Hokkaido Government Office was in use until the new government office that is currently in use was built. Functional beauty is achieved by architectural details like the warped glass created in the Meiji Period and the heat-retaining double doors stored in an ornamental frame.
The public is welcome to visit the building and its displays on Hokkaido history.

In central Sapporo, Nijo Market, a public market, occupies approximately one city block. The market is visited by both locals and tourists to purchase fresh local produce and seafood, such as crabs, salmon eggs, sea urchins, and various fresh and prepared fish.
Enjoying a visit can be done by having a fresh seafood breakfast at one of the market's restaurants. One of the most popular items on the menu for starting the day is ikura donburi, which includes sea urchin, salmon eggs, and rice.
