Nikko Toshogu Shrine
The Toshogu Shrine stands as a stunning tribute to Tokugawa Ieyasu, the man who founded the Tokugawa Shogunate and ruled Japan for over 250 years until 1868.
The storehouses are decorated with many colorful and elaborate wood carvings, but the most well-known ones are the'see no evil, speak no evil, and hear no evil' monkeys and Sozonozo Elephants, created by an artist who had never seen elephants.
The monkeys who can see no evil, speak no evil, and hear no evil are the most well-known ones, along with the 'Sozonozo Elephants("imagined elephants")' carved by an artist who never saw elephants.

Hotokuan is a well-known restaurant located in a nostalgic old private house in Suginamiki Park. The noodles are made using 100% ground flour, and they have a smooth texture and a strong aroma.
Sitting on the veranda allows you to savor flavorful soba noodles while taking in the natural scenery. There is also ``bukkake soba'' and ``Yuba soba'' that use soy milk Yuba, so be sure to try them.

Edo Wonderland Nikko Edomura
Edo Wonderland Nikko Edomura recreates the life of town dwellers during the Edo Period (1603-1868) in its theme park. The town of the park is constructed using Edo style architecture and is inhabited by people dressed in period costumes. It has been utilized as the setting for period TV shows.
You can also dress up and tour the town's historically-based shops and museums, participate in games, and see live shows and theater.
